I imagine this scene happened somewhere in the story, Thranduil bidding Legolas farewell before the Ring Quest. It was originally done for an ezine that unforunately never saw print due to lack of submissions.

This is actually an old piece from 2005. Somehow the scan also looked smoother this time...

WOW I'm as surprised as Legolas. I had never thought Thranduil would be a really loving father but I guess he is still a father. It's so sweet and very beautifully drawn. Good job

I did not cry when I read the words on here, though I wanted to so bad.
I had never thought of this side of Thranduil untill seeing it here. This is beautiful in more ways than just that alone though. The look of suprise on Legolas' face suggests that he wasn't expecting his father to do that.
You have amazed me. Even though this is one of your older pieces. It's just so beautiful. So touching, so priceless.
It's... undescribe-able.
